The cold-formed steel material with which we manufacture trusses or beams for floors, floor slabs or mezzanines and for Steel framing roofing, is non-combustible, therefore it does not burn or produce toxic fumes in case of exposure to fire. Due to the type of configuration, we guarantee resistance and high construction performance, being a product compatible with traditional construction methods and products. We have several options of Somundy Trusses among them:
ROOF TRUSSES
Manufactured with Stud-Track elements in light structural cold-formed steel, designed, pre-assembled and spaced at 40 cm (16″), 60 cm (24″) or 120 cm (48″) on center for quick and easy installation. The different solutions are adaptable to any architectural style and roof geometry applied in residential and commercial buildings. Can be designed up to an average span length of 20m (65′).
COVER PANELS
The roof panels are integrated by Stud-Track geometrically arranged and distributed in sections to optimize the efficiency of installation on site, replacing the traditional assembly method and fulfilling its function of resistance and support, as well as rationalizing the use of false ceilings in the interior, replacing the use of soffits or false ceilings.
ROOF BEAMS
Roof trusses are designed and pre-cut from the factory, used on penthouse, vaulted or cathedral ceiling projects or other custom architectural designs. They can be drilled as required to allow for easier and faster installation of electrical wiring and plumbing.
Our 12-, 14- and 16-gauge steel framing beams are designed to maximize structural strength and durability, allow for flexibility in the architectural design of the deck, and are easily transported and handled on site. They are precision fabricated to ensure a perfect fit and fast, efficient erection processes as part of the quality of the job.
ROOF CLADDING AND OVERHANGS
For roof sheathing and overhangs, 18 mm OSB is normally used, in case another material is incorporated. Contact a technical advisor from our Somundy team, we will support you with compatible options and validate any particular option that is not in our portfolio free of charge.
FLOOR AND MEZZANINE TRUSSES AND BEAMS OR SLABS
The Steel Framing structure of these areas consists of steel beams or trusses, supplemented or not with 9.5mm OSB T&G sections. The floor, mezzanine or slab structure can be supplied in units or panelized.
DESIGN AND ENGINEERING:
Detailed drawings delivered with the product, provide installers with the correct information for proper placement of beams and give adequate support of live and dead loads.
All of our local Somundy representatives provide local technical assistance and support in design, calculation and drawings. We provide a detailed set of erection phase drawings and a product manual to facilitate on-site installation of steel framing components. Certain designs and regions require a stamp or letter of recommendation from a licensed structural engineer. Somundy, for an additional fee, can provide engineering on a case-by-case basis.
